I'm Nikolai Lockertsen (Nikko) and this is a selection of my various artworks and tutorials.
I work as a freelance Concept Artist, illustrator and Animator, and have worked in the Movie & TV industry more than 25 years. I have a fun career, having worked on such movies as “Troll Hunter”, Oscar-nominated “Kon Tiki”, “Max Manus”, “Sonic 1 & 2”, "Troll" and more!
I travel around the world and hold Demos and Workshops. The iPad Pro with the Procreate & Procreate Dreams apps are my main tools and always travels with me!
I also teach how to draw, paint and animateon the iPad.

My Procreate Dreams animation for Apple Keynote
I cannot beleive I got to be in a Apple Keynote with my friend and CEO of Procreate, James Cuda 🤩 So friggin cool!!! I made this artwork and animation in Procreate + Procreate Dreams for the event. So much fun! Close to 200 tracks in 4K with lensblur!! All realtime playback haha, just ridiculous Power😅 procre.at/letloose

Here is another Procreate Dreams animation I did. Painted all alements in Procreate. Lots of 12K stuff :-) I wanted to do one camera move from space down to the ground on a planet. It was fun to figure out how to do that in 2D. #procreatedreams #procreate

Here is another Procreate Dreams animation I had so much fun doing :-D You must have sound on! A combo of Keyframing, Frame by frame and preform. All the stuff moving in the wind is preformed. Cat and woman is frame by frame. Train is 2 keyframes ...haha #procreatedreams #procreate

This Procreate demo was alot of fun 🤣. Playgrounds was amazing. So many awesome folks ❤️❤️❤️ And I do love Harry Potter. Just had a "what-if" idea that Hagryd hit him with the pig-spell insted of Dudley.

This is beautiful work! The way you used perspective to capture the feeling of looking up at these aliens is amazing! The composition and color is perfect! The contrast between the perfect machines and the imperfections of the city buildings is brilliant!

i thought procreate dreams was for 2d, but this looks 3d.... How?
The illusion of 3D :-) just scaling the closest stuff more than the stuff further away, and using the lensblur on the different layers. All 2D, but I try to make it look 3D. The animated cone and ufo is frame by frame drawn like that.

Cool! Glad to hear that. Have fun making animations. It takes a few days to get to know Procreate Dreams. Just watch a few videos on how to get started. There is alot of hidden menus an such

The UFO thingy? That it rotates? That is just frame by frame drawn like that. Just looks like 3D, but all 2D

Honest question and Ik this is kinda old, but what size and resolution were you doing? Mine always came back so pixelated
My backgrounds here are painted in Procreate Dreams at 12k. So very large! The project in Procreate Dreams is 4K. But I make sure not to zoom further into the 12k bg than to stay within the 4K. Does that make sense?
